Abilities
Dimensional Force
When D’Arcy’s normal attacks and abilities land on enemies, he gains Dimensional Energy (depletes rapidly after he exits combat). When at full energy, he enters another dimension for 8 seconds, immediately restores 20% of lost mana and the cooldowns on Dimensional Walk and Dimensional Cube are immediately reset. He also gains 20% movement speed while in another dimension, and his next Dimensional Walk or Dimensional Cube will be enhanced.
Dimensional Walk
D’Arcy enters a different dimension for 1.5 seconds, during which he cannot be targeted, is immune to control effects, his movement speed is increased by 20% and he takes significantly less damage. After using this ability, his next normal attack within 5 seconds is enhanced with a longer range and deals an additional magic damage as well as reduces target movement speed by 60%. Attacking or using abilities while he is in a different dimension will cancel the effect immediately.Enhanced: His movement speed is increased by 40% and his HP is restored.
Dimensional Cube
D’Arcy summons a Dimension Cube at the target area. After 1.25 seconds, the cube explodes and deals magic damage.Enhanced: The range of the explosion is increased. D’Arcy gains 10 energy for each enemy hit.
Dimensional Portal
D’Arcy opens a Portal in the target area, dealing magic damage to enemies within the area and marking their locations. After 2 seconds, marked enemies are teleported back to their original locations and stunned for a short period of time.Within 6 seconds of using this ability, D’Arcy can use it again to teleport himself to the Portal and trigger an explosion that deals magic damage. The cooldown of Dimensional Cube is immediately reset upon using this ability.

Core Combos
Chain Initiation
Lead with Q to chain enemies, follow with W for additional CC, then unleash ultimate for massive damage. Best used when enemies are grouped or when you have team backup.
Kiting Defense
Use W defensively to create distance, Flicker away from threats, then chain from safety. Execute when ganked or facing aggressive melee champions.
Burst Combo
Ultimate first for guaranteed hit, chain during cast animation, W for cleanup damage. Use when enemies are immobilized or low on health.
Gameplan
Early Game
Levels 1–6- →Farm safely from distance; avoid unnecessary fights until you hit level 4 with ultimate available
- →Ward river and jungle entrances to detect ganks early; position near team when rotating to lane
Mid Game
Post Broken Spear- →Control teamfights by chaining priority targets (ADC/supports); maintain 8+ second distance from enemy frontline
- →Rotate to secure objectives with your crowd control; use ultimate to initiate favorable 5v5s when your team groups
Late Game
Teamfight phase- →Position at maximum spell range during fights; chain the enemy carry and let team collapse on immobilized targets
- →Save ultimate for critical moments (baron defense, crucial teamfights); never chase isolated targets—maintain map pressure
Matchups
D'Arcy gets countered by
RazHigh mobility and dash-heavy kit allows him to dodge chains and close gaps faster than D'Arcy can react
ZillInvisibility negates D'Arcy's chain targeting and allows easy gap closing for burst damage
YenaSuperior wave clear and crowd control immunity phases make her difficult to lock down effectively
D'Arcy synergizes with
VioletD'Arcy chains enemies into Violet's attack range for easy repositioning and guaranteed damage- ElandorChained enemies remain stationary for Elandor's skillshot ultimates, enabling follow-up burst damage
ArumCombined crowd control (D'Arcy chains + Arum roots) ensures locked targets die before they escape
Pro Tips
- →Chain mechanics reward prediction over raw mechanics—anticipate enemy movement patterns and aim chains where they'll be, not where they are
- →Mana management is crucial: prioritize securing kills/objectives over spamming; consider blue buff priority to enable aggressive late-game play
- →In high-level play, your value is crowd control initiation—coordinate ults with your jungler/support for guaranteed follow-up damage before committing chains
D'Arcy is a high-impact A-tier control mage that excels in coordinated teamfights with his chain mechanics and crowd control. Pick him into composition-heavy enemy teams and when your squad can capitalize on locked targets. His skill-shot reliance and mana dependency make him weaker into poke-heavy or highly mobile enemy compositions.
