Keera — Assassin Guide
Key Insights
- Passive (Dark Tides) adds bonus magic damage to basic attacks, so weave autos between abilities mid-combo.
- Q (Umbra Dream) always grabs the nearest enemy, clear minions before engaging or it pulls a creep instead of your target.
- Q's shadow deals double magic damage if it detonates at the center, so wait for W's stun to land before recasting.
- W (Triangle Maze) grants a brief untargetability window on the dash, use it to bait and eat a key CC ability.
- R (Fading Phantom) resets both Q and W cooldowns the moment it ends, cancel it early inside terrain to immediately chain a second full rotation.
Strengths
Umbra Dream's 3-second lock sticks to any carry, dash or not.
Fading Phantom resets Q and W, letting Keera run two full burst rotations.
Triangle Maze's untargetability window dodges abilities that would kill other assassins.- Wall-phasing and terrain invisibility make Keera impossible to chase in jungle.
Weaknesses
Umbra Dream pulls the nearest enemy, so minion waves can eat the Q.- All magic damage, one Mantle of Ra can completely shut down a dive.
- Pre-Loki's Curse clear is slower than Murad or Nakroth; vulnerable to invades.
Fading Phantom has a long cooldown, waste it on escape and lose kill pressure for 40+ seconds.
Matchups
Abilities
PDark Tides
Keera gains spell vamp. Additionally, her auto attacks deal physical damage and bonus spell damage.
1Umbra Dream
Keera leaps and leaves a shadow that deals spell damage (x2 if hit center). Then pulls the nearest enemy toward her and locks them for 3 seconds. Press again to send the shadow toward an enemy, dealing additional spell damage. If no target exists, the shadow dashes toward Keera instead.
2Triangle Maze
Keera dashes and splits into 2 shadows. Each shadow deals spell damage. Then creates a triangular area that deals spell damage every 1 second. (Keera cannot be targeted while using this skill, and enemies hit by the triangle's edge are stunned.) *After using this skill, the next 3 auto attacks become ranged.
RFading Phantom
Keera enters Dark Spirit mode and runs faster for 8 seconds. She can dash through obstacles and block 3 auto attacks. (Keera becomes invisible while in obstacles.) When the duration ends, immediately refresh the cooldown of skills 1 and 2.

6Core Combos
Standard Kill Combo
Open with Q to place the shadow and pull the target into the center damage zone, immediately follow with W to stun them on the triangle edge and consume your three enhanced ranged autos, then second-press Q to send the shadow diving through them for the execute. Use this against any isolated carry in mid-game ganks.
Double-Rotation Burst (Post-R)
Run the standard combo, then pop Fading Phantom before the target can react. The cooldown reset fires the moment R ends, so cancel it early once you are in range and run the full rotation a second time. This is the combo that one-shots tanks and ends 1v2 scenarios.
Wall-Escape Reset
Use when caught out of position. Pop R to phase through the nearest wall, cancel R inside the wall to go invisible briefly, let it end for the cooldown reset, then immediately re-engage with a fresh Q and W. Opponents chasing you will overextend and you become the aggressor.

Gameplan
Keera's first meaningful spike is at level 4 when she has all three active abilities available for a basic rotation, though her damage is still tentative without items. Her real breakpoint is Loki's Curse completed. The spell vamp and AP together make her jungle sustain comfortable and her ganks lethal. The second major spike is the moment she hits level 4 of R, unlocking maximum Dark Spirit duration and the full Q/W reset. That typically lands 10 to 13 minutes in, and a two-rotation burst will one-shot most carries with Boomstick in the build. She is weakest in the first three minutes against an invading jungler and again in late game if the enemy team has stacked two magic-resistance items.
Early Game
Levels 1–6- →Start at the buff that gives you the faster level-2 path, typically the buff on the side of the map where you can contest or track the enemy jungler, and prioritize clearing without taking damage by keeping Q shadow alive as long as possible since its recall press is a safe disengage from camp aggro.
- →Do not gank before level 4 unless the enemy laner is severely overextended with no dash. Pre-4 Keera ganks without a full rotation are coinflips that set back your Loki's Curse timing.
- →Track the enemy jungler's path actively. Keera's wall-phasing means you can steal scuttler or the enemy buff through walls that other junglers have to walk around, which is free gold if you read the pathing correctly.
Mid Game
Post Broken Spear- →Once Loki's Curse and Hermes' Select are complete, become a roaming threat every time R is off cooldown. The core game plan is to appear in a side lane, delete a carry in one rotation, and phase back into the jungle before the enemy can respond.
- →Prioritize ganking the lane where the enemy carry is most isolated, and always clear the minion wave away from your target before engaging so Umbra Dream's pull grabs the hero rather than a creep.
- →Contest Dragon and Dark Slayer by using your wall-phasing to take angles other junglers cannot. You can position Triangle Maze to hit multiple enemies retreating through a narrow chokepoint, making objective teamfights significantly more favorable.
Late Game
Teamfight phase- →In late-game teamfights, your job is not to frontline. Wait for the enemy CC to be spent on your tank before entering with Q, then burn your target within three seconds of the pull while they are locked.
- →If you are ahead, use Dark Spirit's wall traversal aggressively in sieges to flank their back line from the side terrain, forcing them to either peel and break formation or watch their carry die.
- →Save Arctic Orb's active as an additional anti-burst layer on top of R's auto-block. A Keera who stacks both defensive windows in sequence is genuinely difficult to burst down even in a losing teamfight, giving your team time to follow.
Pro Tips
- →You can cancel Dark Spirit mode early by re-pressing R. Do it deliberately after phasing through a wall so you are just inside the terrain, triggering the brief invisibility, then immediately take the Q/W cooldown reset and re-engage before the enemy figures out where you went.
- →The three enhanced ranged autos from Triangle Maze do not expire quickly. If you W in a teamfight and your primary target runs, dump those autos on the nearest secondary target rather than chasing a reset. Free damage on the tank still charges your passive sustain.
- →Against mobile carries with dashes like Butterfly or Florentino, hold the second press of Q deliberately. Let them burn their dash trying to escape the pull, then detonate Q's follow-up dive once they have no movement tool left.
- →Jungle Punish timing matters a lot for her power-spike window. Securing Dragon or Dark Slayer buffs for your team right before you finish your full item set (Boomstick completed) creates a narrow 60-90 second window where Keera is effectively unkillable.
Keera is a high-ceiling assassin for players willing to study geometry. Wall angles, triangle placement, and clone positioning separate the one-tricks who climb with her from the players who try her for a session and give up. Her S-tier status this patch is legitimate: the Q pull is oppressively reliable against the carries dominating the current meta, and the Dark Spirit reset loop creates a one-shot window that almost no hero can survive at full AP. The single most important thing to master is the deliberate, early cancellation of Fading Phantom inside terrain. Once that reflex is automatic, your entire engagement pattern goes from telegraphed to completely unreadable. If you play at Diamond and above and want a jungler who rewards deep investment with games that feel like you simply cannot be killed, Keera is the pick.
Keera — Frequently Asked Questions
Is Keera good in the current ROV patch?+
Yes. Keera is S-tier on the Thai server right now, with a 15.8% ban rate that speaks louder than her 37.5% win rate. That win rate is suppressed by players picking her blind into CC-heavy compositions. In coordinated Diamond-and-above play where you can draft around her pull mechanics, she consistently outperforms nearly every other jungler.
What is the best build for Keera?+
The Thai-server consensus build is Loki's Curse first for the spell vamp and jungle sustain, into Hermes' Select for movement, then Boomstick for burst amplification, Hecate's Diadem for AP and penetration, Rhea's Blessing for survivability, and Arctic Orb as a last-slot defensive active. Do not deviate from Loki's first. Her passive's spell vamp synergy makes the item mandatory.
How do you counter Keera?+
Keera is countered by heroes who can hard-CC her during the gap between her first and second Q cast. Arum's root and Gildur's stun are the clearest examples. Stacking magic resistance to survive the first rotation long enough for her R cooldown to matter also works. If you are playing against her, pick up a heavier magic-resist item like Mantle of Ra early and try to poke her out before she completes Loki's Curse. Her pre-item clear is her most vulnerable window.
Is Keera hard to play? Is she good for beginners?+
Keera is rated Hard and is not recommended for players below Diamond rank or those learning the jungler role. The 'nearest enemy' mechanic on Umbra Dream requires deliberate fight setup that takes real game-sense to execute, and the Dark Spirit reset combo demands muscle memory that only comes from many hours on the hero. Beginners will have a frustrating experience. Veterans who invest the practice time will find one of the most rewarding carry-junglers on the Thai server.
